Closest park is Phillip J Huber Park. It is a short walk from the subdivision.  The park offers a 1.3-mile walking trail through the woods. It also has 8 tennis courts and a picnic area. Restrooms are located on the outside of the Troy Family Aquatic Center. Ample parking is available at the tennis courts and Aquatic Center.

There are approximately 19000 students enrolled and average tuition fees are $9,280 for freshmen and sophomores; $10,142 for juniors and seniors. Oakland does not charge any fees. Oakland Community College is a few steps south of Oakland University. It is one of the largest community colleges in Michigan and in the US.   

Wayne State University is 19 miles south. It's a public school that offers 187 program options. Students have the option to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. Areas of study available at Wayne State include biology, journalism, international business, teacher education, engineering technology, medicine, linguistics, pharmacy, law, psychology and art, among many more.
