2 miles east, just along the crossroads of E Big Beaver and Dequindre Rd, are several groceries to choose from. These are Troy Food Market, H Mart, Rande Grocers, Atlas Market & Bakert and Aldi. Restaurants in this area are El Patio Mexican, Little Caesars Pizza, Jet’s Pizza, Jimmy’s Coney Grill, New Delhi, Ho Wah Chinese and a lot more. Target and Lowe’s Home Improvement are also near these restaurants.

3.5 miles northeast of the subdivision is Franklin Square Plaza. International Foods grocery is located here. Across Franklin Square Plaza is another grocery, Lagrusa Meat & Fruit Ranch. Beside the grocery are 3 restaurants namely Baghdad, Joe Bologna Trattoria, and Pain D’or Bakery.

2 miles northwest is Troy Commons Shopping Center. Restaurants here are Qdoba Mexican Grill, Jimmy John’s, Panera Bread and McDonalds. Fresh Thyme Farmers Markets is also located here. West Marine and Carter’s are the shopping stores inside Troy Commons.

Troy Market Place Shopping Center is across Troy Commons Shopping Center. 2booli, Burger King, and Pei Wei restaurant are proximal to Troy Market Place. Total Hockey, REI, and Golfsmith Xtreme are also located here.

The subdivision is a short walk to Brinston Park.  Amenities of the park include two ball diamonds, two tennis courts, a basketball court, two soccer fields and a barrier-free play structure. The park also has restrooms, a picnic shelter and parking.

Beaver Trail Park is 1.6 miles north. The park offers a paved walking path, picnic tables, Sand Volley Ball and a barrier-free play structure. There is no restroom at this site. 

Beaumont Hospital-Troy is 5.5 miles north. This 458-bed hospital offers in-patient and outpatient services as well as private practices. It has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

Another Beaumont Hospital, in Royal Oak is 6 miles southwest. It is the largest Beaumont hospital with an academic medical center. It houses 1,070 inpatient beds. Services offered are cancer, renal, vascular, heart, radiology and neuroscience centers as well as a research institute and a medical building with private practices and other Beaumont services. This hospital has been recognized for excellence including University Healthcare Consortium’s (UHC) Quality Leadership Award,] U.S. News and World Report 2015 “Best Hospital” rankings in nine medical specialties and Michigan’s first hospital to receive Magnet recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Oakland Mall Shopping Center is 1.5 miles south. It has about 120 stores that are anchored by Macy's, JCPenney, and Sears. Restaurants and dining at the food court are Charley's Grilled Subs, Cinnabon, Golden Chicken, Panda Express, Qdoba, Sicillia Pizza, Starbucks, Subway and Taco Bell. Some of the shopping stores are Aeropostale, Forever 21, H&M, Victoria's Secret & PINK, Upscale Couture, Chic, Dick's Sporting Goods and a lot more.   

Somerset Collection is 5 miles northwest. It is a luxury mall with more than 180 stores and is co-owned by The Forbes Company. Some of the top luxury retailers present in this mall are Cartiers, L.K. John R Gardens is located 1.7 miles north of I-75. The subdivision is a 30-minute drive to Downtown Detroit, 10-minute drive to North Troy Corporate Park and 20-minute drive to Pontiac.

Southeast Michigan’s technology cluster is located in Automation Alley. It is less than a mile west. It is home to several companies like Inergy Automotive Systems, Electric Charging Station, and NBS Commercial Interiors.

Top of Troy is the tallest building in Troy that caters corporate offices. It is 4 miles west. PNC Financial Services is the major tenant that operates regional offices here. As of December 2014, it has assets of approximately $345.2 billion.

Oakland University is 12 miles northwest. This school was established in 1957, and it offers 132 undergraduate and 124 graduate academic programs. It is also a doctoral research university. There are approximately 19000 students enrolled and average tuition fees are $9,280 for freshmen and sophomores; $10,142 for juniors and seniors. Oakland does not charge any fees. Oakland Community College is a few steps south of Oakland University. It is one of the largest community colleges in Michigan and in the US.   

Wayne State University is 16 miles south. It's a public school that offers 187 program options. Students have the option to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. Areas of study available at Wayne State include biology, journalism, international business, teacher education, engineering technology, medicine, linguistics, pharmacy, law, psychology and art, among many more.
