The closest park is Phillip J Huber Park. It is a short walk from the subdivision.  The park offers a 1.3-mile walking trail through the woods. It also has 8 tennis courts and a picnic area. Restrooms are located on the outside of the Troy Family Aquatic Center. Ample parking is available at the tennis courts and Aquatic Center.

Raintree Park is 3.5 miles east. Amenities include an 18-hole disc golf course, ball diamond, picnic shelters, sand volleyball court, and 2 play equipment. There’s also a walking trail through the woods. Parking can accommodate up to 125 vehicles.

Sylvan Glen Disc Golf Course is 4 miles north. It features an 18-hole, 6,566 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 71.3 and it has a slope rating of 115. It opened in 1922. Adjacent to the course is Sylvan Glen Lake Park. It covers a 16-acre lake for shore fishing. There's also a small parking lot that could accommodate up to 16 vehicles. There's also a disc golf course here.

Beaumont Hospital-Troy is 7 miles northeast. This 458-bed hospital offers in-patient and outpatient services as well as private practices. It has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

Another Beaumont Hospital, in Royal, is 6 miles southwest. It is the largest Beaumont hospital with an academic medical center. It houses 1,070 inpatient beds. Services offered are cancer, renal, vascular, heart, radiology, and neuroscience centers as well as a research institute and a medical building with private practices and other Beaumont services. This hospital has been recognized for excellence including University Healthcare Consortium’s (UHC) Quality Leadership Award,] U.S. News and World Report 2015 “Best Hospital” rankings in nine medical specialties and Michigan’s first hospital to receive Magnet recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Somerset Collection is 2 miles west. It is a luxury mall with more than 180 stores and is co-owned by The Forbes Company. Some of the top luxury retailers present in this mall are Cartiers, L.K. Bennett, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co., Giorgio Armani, Herve Leger, Anne Fontaine, Hugo Boss, MaxMara, Omega, St. John and Coach. Another mall located 4 miles southeast is Oakland Mall Shopping Center. It has about 120 stores that are anchored by Macy's, JCPenney, and Sears. Restaurants and dining at the food court are Charley's Grilled Subs, Cinnabon, Golden Chicken, Panda Express, Qdoba, Sicillia Pizza, Starbucks, Subway and Taco Bell. It is rated 10/10 by greatschools.org and students enrolled are 1,554. International Academy East is 1.3 miles east. It is a public, tuition-free school.  Students are required to earn both high school and International Baccalaureate (IB) diplomas. It is rated 10/10 by greatschools.org. The school accepts grades 9-12. There are 101 students enrolled. GreatSchools ratings of schools are based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness.

Brookfield Academy is 1 mile north. The school accepts PK-5. Students enrolled are 240 and the school offers before and aftercare. Schoolhouse Montessori is 1.5 miles west. They accept grades 9-12 and there are 70 students enrolled. Bethany Christian School is 2.3 miles east. The school accepts K-12 and has 230 students enrolled. Walsh College is less than a mile from the subdivision. The school offers upper-division undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and technology. It also offers certificate programs and online courses. There are approximately 4400 students enrolled and the average tuition fee is $335 per credit hour (undergraduate) and $557 per credit hour (graduate).

Oakland University is 12.5 miles north. This school was established in 1957, and it offers 132 undergraduate and 124 graduate academic programs. It is also a doctoral research university. There are approximately 19000 students enrolled and average tuition fees are $9,280 for freshmen and sophomores; $10,142 for juniors and seniors. Oakland does not charge any fees. Oakland Community College is a few steps south of Oakland University. It is one of the largest community colleges in Michigan and in the US.   

Wayne State University is 18 miles south. It's a public school that offers 187 program options. Students have the option to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. Areas of study available at Wayne State include biology, journalism, international business, teacher education, engineering technology, medicine, linguistics, pharmacy, law, psychology, and art, among many more.
