The Beaver Hills subdivision in Troy MI (more commonly known as The Beaver Hills Sub) is located South of I-75 and on the West side of Coolidge Hwy in the 48098 zip code. The subdivision is a short walk from Sunset Plaza Center. Beside it is Kroger Pharmacy. There are also restaurants proximal to Sunset Plaza Center. These are Kim’s, Punjab Sweets & Indian Cuisine, Thai Taste, and Little Caesars Pizza.

1.8 miles east is Patel Brothers. Across it is another grocery, Han Mi Asian Mart. These groceries are surrounded by loads of restaurants. Some are  China Chef, Boston Market, East Lake Chinese, Grace Azteca-Troy, McDonald's, Pudges Place Deli, Pizza Hut and Sai Sweets of India & Fast Food.

The closest park is Sylvan Glen Lake Park. It is 1.8 miles northeast. The park is one of Troy's nine neighborhood parks. It covers a 16-acre lake for shore fishing. There's also a small parking lot that could accommodate up to 16 vehicles. There's also a disc golf course here. Sylvan Glen Disc Golf Course features an 18 hole, 6,566 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 71.3 and it has a slope rating of 115. It opened in 1922.  

Another park located 2.8 miles east is Jaycee Park. It is one of the major parks in Troy. Amenities include 2 ball diamonds, 2 full size and 6 small soccer fields, sand volleyball court and 2 playscapes. There are also picnic shelters and paved parking.

Beaumont Hospital is 5.8 miles northeast. This 458-bed hospital offers in-patient and outpatient services as well as private practices. It has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

Somerset Collection is 4.3 miles southwest. It is a luxury mall with more than 180 stores and is co-owned by The Forbes Company. Some of the top luxury retailers present in this mall are Cartiers, L.K. Bennett, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co., Giorgio Armani, Herve Leger, Anne Fontaine, Hugo Boss, MaxMara, Omega, St. John and Coach. Some of the restaurants here are P.F. Chang's China Bistro, J. Alexander's, Brio Tuscan Grille, McCormick & Schmick's, and California Pizza Kitchen. The third level of the mall features The Peacock Cafes, it's a group of 10 eateries that could serve up to 650 customers.  

Another mall located 5.5 miles southeast is Oakland Mall Shopping Center. It has about 120 stores that are anchored by Macy's, JCPenney, and Sears. Restaurants and dining at the food court are Charley's Grilled Subs, Cinnabon, Golden Chicken, Panda Express, Qdoba, Sicillia Pizza, Starbucks, Subway and Taco Bell. Some of the shopping stores are Aeropostale, Forever 21, H&M, Victoria's Secret & PINK, Upscale Couture, Chic, Dick's Sporting Goods and a lot more.   

Beaver Hills Subdivision Freeway Access

Beaver Hills is 1.8 miles southeast of I-75. The commute from Beaver Hills to Downtown Detroit is 30 minutes, to the North Troy Corporate Park is 10 minutes and to Pontiac is 20 minutes.

Southeast Michigan’s technology cluster is located in Automation Alley. It is 5.3 miles southeast. It is home to several companies like Inergy Automotive Systems, Electric Charging Station, and NBS Commercial Interiors.

Top of Troy is the tallest building in Troy that caters to corporate offices. It is 3.8 miles south and a block east of Somerset Collection. PNC Financial Services is the major tenant that operates regional offices here. As of December 2014, it has assets of approximately $345.2 billion.  

Beaver Hills Subdivision School District

Beaver Hills students attend Troy School District. Troy School District operates 12 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 4 high schools.

Leonard Elementary school is 1.5 miles east. It has 442 students enrolled and has a rating of 7/10 by greatschools.org. Smith Middle School is 2 miles north. It has 674 students enrolled. Troy High School is 2.3 miles west. It is attended by approximately 2000 students. Newsweek ranked the school 134th in America’s Best High School for 2013. GreatSchools ratings of schools are based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness.

There are also private schools near the subdivision.

Brookfield Academy is 1.3 miles south. The school accepts PK-5. Students enrolled are 240 and the school offers before and aftercare. Troy Continuing Education is 1.5 miles north. They accept grades 9-12 and there are 70 students enrolled. Schoolhouse Montessori is 3 miles southwest. The school has 147 students enrolled and accepts grades PK-3. Bethany Christian School is 4.8 miles southeast. The school accepts K-12 and has 230 students enrolled. The school also offers before and aftercare.

Academy of the Sacred Heart is 5 miles west. It’s the oldest independent school in Michigan. This Roman Catholic School accepts infancy through grades 12. The Academy is a member of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, which includes 21 schools in the U.S. and an affiliation with the Society of the Sacred Heart in 44 countries around the world. 

Walsh College is 1.8 miles south. The school offers upper-division undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and technology. It also offers certificate programs and online courses. There are approximately 4400 students enrolled and the average tuition fee is $335 per credit hour (undergraduate) and $557 per credit hour (graduate).

Oakland University is 8 miles northwest. This school was established in 1957, and it offers 132 undergraduate and 124 graduate academic programs. It is also a doctoral research university. There are approximately 19000 students enrolled and average tuition fees are $9,280 for freshmen and sophomores; $10,142 for juniors and seniors. Oakland does not charge any fees.

Oakland Community College is a short walk south of Oakland University. It is one of the largest community colleges in Michigan and in the US.   

Wayne State University is 20 miles south. It's a public school that offers 187 program options. Students have the option to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. Areas of study available at Wayne State include biology, journalism, international business, teacher education, engineering technology, medicine, linguistics, pharmacy, law, psychology, and art, among many more.
