Sylvan Glen Disc Golf Course features an 18 hole, 6,566 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 71.3 and it has a slope rating of 115. It opened in 1922.

Oakland Community College is 9 miles northwest. It is one of the largest community colleges in Michigan and in the US.   

Wayne State University is 19 miles south. It's a public school that offers 187 program options. Students have the option to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. Areas of study available at Wayne State include biology, journalism, international business, teacher education, engineering technology, medicine, linguistics, pharmacy, law, psychology and art, among many more.
