When I was a kid my dad, who worked for General Motors for 37 years, would bundle us kids up, just my sister and myself, my mother had no interest in going, and we'd take our annual January Pilgrimage to Cobo Hall.  We're the Motor City, and this show is the epitome of what it means to be a Detroiter, even if you're a Metro Detroiter.  It gave us, not my sister, she was dragged along, us being my dad and I, something to look forward to every year.  He'd grab his free tickets as an employee of General Motors, we'd hop in the Pontiac Transport, that I swear was modeled after a dustbuster, and fight the winds and snow, usually park on the outer parking deck and run into Cobo as fast as we could.
