Heritage Park, 5 miles via W 14 Mile Road and Farmington Road, is a 211-acre park with 4.5 miles of trails for hiking and nature study.  In the winter these trails are used for cross-country skiing.  A large picnic area is located at the north end of the park.  It includes a splash pad, group picnic shelter, youth playground, in-ground grills, two sand volleyball courts, an in-line hockey rink and six horseshoe pits.  The picnic shelter is available on a "first-come" basis, but may be reserved in advance for a nominal fee.  Also located in Heritage Park are the Spicer House, Stables Art Studio, Day Camp, Nature Center and Amphitheatre buildings.

North Farmington High School is located 2.5 miles via Orchard Lake Road and W 13 Mile Road. The school was established in 1961, and, as of the 2014-2015 school year, educates a student body of 1,246. North Farmington does not assign class rank. If college applications require class rank information, for scholarships or otherwise, North Farmington will include a letter stating that the school does not rank students, as well as the rationale behind the decision not to perform ranking.

Farmington Central High School, 5.9 miles via Orchard Lake Road, is a public high school, which serves students ages 16–19 in an alternative setting while meeting the FPS benchmarks. The school is part of Farmington Public Schools. Central High is a consolidated version of Farmington Alternative High School and Farmington Community School. During the day, it is called Farmington Central High School, and is called Farmington Adult Education in the evening. The building was originally Shiawassee Elementary School, which closed in 1980.
