Downtown Farmington is 2.5 miles south of Old Homestead. It is nestled in the southwest corner of Oakland County and is within easy reach of four major freeways. Founders Sports Park is 5 miles south. It's a 101-acre park with a variety of active recreation facilities including 6 soccer fields, 8 baseball/softball fields, 4 sand volleyball courts, 2 half-court basketball courts, 1 bocce ball court, and 1 shuffle board court.

Farmington Hills Ice Arena is beside Founders Sports Park. It's a 70,000 sq ft arena with 2 ice surfaces and can acommodate up to 1200 people.
