DO:  Check the bylaws.  Every complex is different when it comes to rules and regulations.  In some there are no restrictions on pets, in others they can be limited by number and weight.  Most Farmington Hills Condos for sale don't have pet restrictions, however there are a few that do.  Typically any apartment conversions (condos that were apartments a developer purchased and turned into individual condos) have these restrictions to be mindful of.

DON'T: Many any exterior modifications.  Exterior repairs and modifications are typically handled by the association, though some (decks, windows, etc) may be on the owner to repair and replace when the time comes.  Most condos for sale in Farmington Hills MI include all of the above, however there are a few that don't, and several complexes that are considering moving the expense from the complex to the owner to shore up costs.

DO: Feel free to change kitchens, bathrooms or finish basements.  These improvements add value to your investment, and add enjoyment of new kitchens, bathrooms, or expanded living space is invaluable.

Farmington Hills condos for sale faired better in 2014 then in previous years as the Metro Detroit housing market as a whole is recovering.  There were 256 total condo sales in 2014, up from 238 in 2013.  The lowest price was $20,300 and high sales price 350,000.  The days on market in the first two quarters of 2014 was 38 days and has slowly crept up in quarters three and four to 51 days on market.  Farmington Hills condos for sale are currently averaging 53 days on the market, however with the spring market that's expected to move down quite a bit.
