This park is definitely a great place to enjoy the weekends with your family. Cass Benton Park and Disc Golf Course are 1.9 miles south. This park is one of the oldest parks in Northville and has been popular since the 1920s. The area capacity is around 100. This park has picnic shelters and a sledding hill. For the disc golf course, the landscape is very hilly and heavily wooded.  There’s a wide variety of holes to choose from since there’s a total of 18 on the terrain. 

Downtown Northville is 1 mile east of Taft Colony. Downtown Northville boasts a wide variety of retail stores to choose from. Banks here are Bank of America, Monroe Bank & Trust, and Community Financial. There are also coffee shops like Tuscan Café, Edward’s Café and Caterer, and The Next Chapter Book Store and Bistro. 2.4 miles northeast in Oak Pointe Plaza Shopping Plaza. Some of the stores here are CVS Pharmacy, Pizza Hut, Sylvan Learning, and Town and Country Eyecare. Besides the mall is Novi Bowl Family Fun Center. It’s a bowling center that features entertainment and recreation for families. There are over 350 balls that are available to use ranging from 6lbs – 16lbs. They also have shoes for rent and uses over 1700 pins every year. Aside from bowling, they also have 4 billiard tables and 12 arcade machines. Novi Bowl Family Fun Center also hosts birthday parties and other special events. 4.9 miles southeast is another mall. Northville Village Shopping Center has numerous retail stores to choose from. Some of the stores are Bed Bath & Beyond, Office Depot, Kroger, Redbox, REI, PetSmart, Electronics Boutique, T-Mobile, Pier 1 Imports, Running Fits, and Fast Signs. Bank of America, Chase Bank, Comerica Bank, and Talmer Bank & Trust are outside the mall. There's also a lot of restaurants outside the mall. Some of which is PF Chang's, Noodles & Company, Applebee's, Papa Vino's Italian Kitchen. Potbelly Shop, Sushi Rolls, and Pancheros Mexican Grill.

Taft Colony is 5 miles east of I-275 and 4 miles north of M-14. It is 8.5 miles north of Canton-Plymouth-Mettetal Airport. The subdivision is 1 mile east of Downtown Northville and 4.6 miles south of Novi Town Center. 3 miles south is the Northville Technical Center where several companies and corporations are located like Packaging Corporation of America, Heritage, Federal-Mogul Corporation, SME, Crown Lift Trucks, Tower Automotive, and a lot more.
