Abbey Knoll Estates in Northville lots are for single family residence only. Farm and wild animals are not allowed to be kept or bred here. Only household pets are allowed so long as the animals won’t be offensive to others due to noise and unsanitary conditions. Dogs should be leashed or kept in a dog run and should not be allowed to run loose. Temporary structures e.g. tent, shacks, and or trailers are strictly prohibited to be used in Abbey Knolls. Fences are not allowed to be built around the lot, except for fences used to enclose swimming pools and dog runs.

Abbey Knoll Estates homeowners are obliged to pay maintenance assessments for the improvement of the community. Purposes of the fees are recreation, safety, and welfare of the residents. The annual association due is $100-$150.

The closest parks to Abbey Knoll Estates are Maybury State Park and Maplewood Park.

Maybury State Park is less than a mile west of Abbey Knoll Estates. Maybury State Park is one of the biggest parks in South Michigan. It's popular because of the different terrains it has for different kinds of activities like walking, biking, running, horse riding and fishing. There are miles of hiking trails that are paved and a pond that has beautiful swans. This park is definitely a great place to enjoy the weekends with your family. The park also offers picnic spots and playgrounds for kids. There are also animals and a large farm. The farm is targeted by students on educational field trips because it provides educational information on animals, sheep shearing, dairy days, and other farming demonstrations.

Maplewood Park is a small nice park located 1.4 miles east. This park has a walking trail, mostly used by residents of the subdivision surrounding it.

Downtown Northville is 1.3 miles southeast. It’s a major attraction for tourists because of the many year-round activities. Friday nights are concert nights in Town Square where different bands feature a variety of musical genres. They also have Arts and Acts activity every summer hosted by the Northville Art House. Other activities they have are a Victorian Festival, Fairy Doors, and a lot more. Dining in downtown Northville offers the best in the whole city, from fine dining to international dishes to gourmet burgers. Some of the restaurants here are Koji, Tirami Su, Table 5, Poole's Tavern, the early bird, and a lot more.

If you're after entertainment, there are several places you can try: Broughton Music Center, Genetti's, Marquis Theatre, Downs Race Track, and Tipping Point Theatre. Overall, downtown Northville has more than 75 shops, boutiques, and restaurants that you can choose from. The Northville District library could also be found here. It has free Wi-Fi and a lot of computers to use. They have kids' section too where there are educational toys for kids to play with. There's also a puppet theater every week. They have a TV section for their DVDs if you want to check out the post season of shows you want to watch.

The nearest grocery from Abbey Knolls is Hillers Market. It is 1.4 miles east. Another grocery further east is Parmenter’s Northville Cider & Winery which is 1.8 miles from the subdivision.
