Pine Knolls is located west of Middlebelt Rd and north of 12 Mile Rd. 

Glen Oaks Golf Course is 1.5 miles north. It’s a public golf course that has 18 holes opened in 1930.  Green fees prices range is $15 on weekdays and $19 on weekends. The golf course measures 6051 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 123 and a 69.4 USGA rating.

Closest restaurant from the subdivision is a walking distance south which is Ginopolis Restaurant. Mini Mart Valero is east of the restaurant. Across Mini Mart Valero is Merchants Marketplace Shopping Center. Taste of China Restaurant is also located here. CVS Pharmacy, Jungle Java Café, and Planet Fitness could also be found here. South of Merchants Marketplace Shopping Center is Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Kumon Math & Reading Center, Karahi Korner Restaurant and a grocery, Asia Grocers. West of Merchants Market Place Shopping Center are 7-Eleven, US Coin Gallery and Mobil Gasoline Station.

More Restaurants are located 1.1 miles southwest, right before entering I-696. These are along Twelve Mile Rd. Restaurants inside the shopping center are Scrambler Marie’s, Bangkok Sala Café, Jimmy John’s, Hong Hua Fine Chinese Dining, Jet’s Pizza, Starbucks and Einstein Bros Bagel. Comerica Bank is in front of the shopping center. Beside are Kabuki Sushi and Burger King.

Orchard Place Shopping Center off Orchard Lake Rd is another shopping place 2.7 miles northwest of the subdivision. Some of the stores inside the mall are Kay Jewelers, Menchies Hunters Square, Cristopher & Banks, Five Below, Men’s Wearhouse, Emery’s Creative Jewelers, Yankee Candle and Marshall & Home Goods. Buffalo Wild Wings, The Honey Tree Grille and California Pizza Kitchen at Hunter’s Square are restaurants inside the mall. South of the mall are more retail stores like buybuy Baby, T.J. Maxx, Dollar Tree, Ulta Beauty, Gap and Carters.

Downtown Farmington is 4.3 miles southwest. It hosts different events year round making it an attraction to tourists. Some of the events are Ladies Night Out every April, Small Business Saturday, Farmers & Artisans Market, Art on the Grand and Harvest Moon. The landmark Farmington Civic Theater could also be found here.
