St John Medical Center is 2 miles south. A bigger hospital, located 16 miles southwest is Beaumont Hospital - Royal Oak. It is the largest Beaumont hospital with an academic medical center. Shelby Junior High is 2.7 miles northeast. Chippewa Valley High School is 5.6 miles south. Chippewa Valley High School has 2500 students and serves the greater community by offering a comprehensive education that prepares students to excel in our ever-changing world. Premier Academy. The school accepts K-8 and has 740 students enrolled. Premier Academy is a Christian-based, non-sectarian early childhood campus established for the purpose of meeting a community’s need for excellent educational opportunities with childcare hours for working parents. We are an extension of the parents. They offer a healthy, safe, loving environment where all actions and attitudes are in the best interest of the children. Privately held from the beginning, Premier Academy can take a long-term view and operate differently than many other public companies. The school also offers before and aftercare.

Troy Continuing Education is 4 miles north. They accept grades 9-12 and there are 70 students enrolled. 

Wayne State University is 5 miles south. It's a public school that offers 187 program options. Students have the option to get bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorates. Areas of study available at Wayne State include biology, journalism, international business, teacher education, engineering technology, medicine, linguistics, pharmacy, law, psychology, and art, among many more.

Oakland University is 13 miles East. This school was established in 1957, and it offers 132 undergraduate and 124 graduate academic programs. It is also a doctoral research university. There are approximately 19000 students enrolled and average tuition fees are $9,280 for freshmen and sophomores; $10,142 for juniors and seniors. Oakland does not charge any fees. Oakland Community College is a few steps south of Oakland University. It is one of the largest community colleges in Michigan and in the US.
