Livonia Marketplace is 3.5 miles north. It is a shopping mall in the Detroit suburb of Livonia, Michigan. Opened in 2010, the center is anchored by Sears and Wal-Mart. It occupies the site of the former Livonia Mall, which was an enclosed mall built in 1964. Livonia Mall lost the majority of its tenants in the 2000s, including its previous anchor stores of Crowley's (later Value City), Mervyns and Children's Palace. Mar Git students attend Livonia Public Schools. The school district serves most of the city of Livonia and the northernmost portions of Westland. The Livonia Public Schools District is a closed school district and does not accept students outside of its designated geographical boundaries. Those school boundaries are determined by the Board of Education. Transfers from within the school district must be approved through central office authorities.

Roosevelt Elementary is a mile from the subdivision. The school, is comprised of approximately 400 students in grades preK-4. Roosevelt is also home to the Roosevelt Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preschool program.
