Closest groceries are Kroger (less than a mile south) and Avenue Market which is at the city’s downtown. Beside Kroger is Starbucks and Penn Station East Coast Subs. Other retail stores proximal to Kroger are Better Health Market, FedEx, 7-Eleven, On the Run, Plymouth Pub and Sheldon Veterinary Hospital.  3 blocks east of Kroger are more restaurants like Natural Local Food Express, Red Olive Restaurant-Plymouth, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Joe’s Deli & Catering, Papa John’s Pizza and Plymouth Roc. 

Downtown Plymouth is 1.8 miles east of the subdivision. Downtown Plymouth has over 100 shops and 24 restaurants. Some of the restaurants are 336 Main, Barrio Cocina Y Tequileria, Box Bar & Grill, Burger Spot, Compari’s on the Park, Extreme Pizza, Fiamma Grille and a lot more. Some specialty shops at downtown Plymouth are Alpine Chocolat Haus, Bed & Boutique, Blaze-Thru Comics, Bohemian Home, Creatopia Pottery, Dairy King, Elephant Ears and Home Sweet Home. There are also numerous gyms, salons and spas at downtown Plymouth.

Kellogg Park is at downtown Plymouth. Kellogg Park is the main feature of the city’s downtown. It’s a well-landscaped public plaza that has a fountain and benches. The park hosts a wide variety of special year round events like Art in the Park, Green Street Fair, Plymouth Fall Festival and Plymouth Ice Festival. It’s the perfect spot for relaxing and lounging on a nice day.

Westchester Square Mall is also at the city’s downtown. Shops inside the mall are Sunny J’s, Michigan Custom Boutique & Fine Yarn, Forest Tailoring, Three Dog Bakery, Genuine Toy Co., Basket Kreations, Forest Place Optical and lolaryan. Dining inside the mall are Omelette & Waffle Café, Maya’s Deli and The Burger Spot.

Another mall located 3 miles south of Trailwood is Centre Village of Canton Shopping Center. Kroger is also here. Restaurants in the area are La Sharm, Leo’s Coney Island, Tony Sacco’s Coal Pizza Canton and Bailey’s. A block east of Canton Shopping Center is New Towne Plaza Shopping Center. Shopping stores here are Kohl’s, Family Christian, DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, Once Upon A Child, Plato’s Closet, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft, Carter’s and Dockers. Restaurants are Palermo Pizzeria & Restaurant, Lai Thai, Bombay-Wraps, and Mc Donald’s. Walgreens, TGI Fridays, and 7 Eleven are also close to New Towne Plaza Shopping Center. Harvard Square Shopping Center is east of Arby’s. Target is also in the same block. 

Trailwood Subdivision Freeway Access

Trailwood Subdivision is 1.6 miles south of M-14.

Because of Plymouth’s coastal location, the economy of the city has been traditionally maritime, but there are other close work areas from the subdivision.

2 miles northeast of the subdivision are Alfing Corporation, Link Engineering and HELLA. Alfing Corporation is a manufacturing company of new machines. Link Engineering is a multinational organization of research and investigation. The company mainly offer test automotive equipment. HELLA is also a manufacturing company of vehicle parts.
