Elmwood Farms Subdivision Location

Homes for sale in Elmwood Farms, Livonia, MI are located south of 7 Mile Rd and east of Merriman Rd.

Livonia Marketplace is a short walk south of the subdivision. It is a shopping mall in the Detroit suburb of Livonia, Michigan. Opened in 2010, the center is anchored by Sears and Wal-Mart. It occupies the site of the former Livonia Mall, which was an enclosed mall built in 1964. Livonia Mall lost the majority of its tenants in the 2000s, including its previous anchor stores of Crowley's (later Value City), Mervyns and Children's Palace. The mall was closed in May 2008, with only the Sears remaining from the original property.

Secretary of State Office is 3.5 miles southwest. Baskin Robbins, Pan Pan and Papa Johns are within the proximity. Walgreens is across.

3.5 miles south is Livonia Plaza Shopping Center. It is anchored by Kroger an T. J. Maxx. Red Wing, Starbucks, Red Wing and Wild Bill's Tobacco is also in the area.

Rotary Park is 3.5 miles south. It's a big park with tennis courts, 5 pavillons, volley ball courts, a 1/2 mile paved walking path, baseball diamond, and a play structure. A great green space.

Bicentennial Park is 3.5 miles west. The park offers great things for everyone. There are a total of 8 well-maintained tennis courts in 2 separate places within the park. Founders Sport Park is 4 miles south. It's a 101-acre park with a variety of active recreation facilities including 6 soccer fields, 8 baseball/softball fields, 4 sand volleyball courts, 2 half-court basketball courts, 1 bocce ball court, and 1 shuffle board court. Farmington Hills Ice Arena is beside Founders Sports Park. It's a 70,000 sq ft arena with 2 ice surfaces and can accommodate up to 1200 people. The arena offers concession facilities, locker rooms, lockers, meeting and party rooms as well as, administrative offices. The facility provides both recreational and competitive skating opportunities. It is home to the Farmington Hills Hockey Association.

Livonia also boasts a state-of-the-art Community Recreation Center located 3 miles south. It features a giant pool slide, leisure pool with water sprays, competitive pool, two gymnasiums, two multi-activity courts, fitness hub with training equipment, indoor track, climbing wall, aerobics room, party rooms, giant play structure and gymnastics area. Outside, the “Rec Center” offers four soccer fields, in-line skate rink, skateboard park, walking path, two sand volleyball courts and a water spray ground.

Elmwood Farms is 2 miles west of M-5 and 5 miles east of I-96 & I-275.

Elmwood Farms students attend Clarenceville School District of Wayne and Oakland Counties. The School District is located at the southern edge of Oakland County and includes sections of Livonia, Farmington Hills, Redford and Southfield. It is comprised of approximately 1,900 students in one high school, one middle school and two elementary schools.  Our students are serviced by 125 certified teaching, counseling, special services, and administrative staff and are supported by approximately 50 more secretarial, food service, maintenance, and part-time aides. Grandview Elementary School, a 2005 Michigan Exemplary Blue Ribbon Elementary School, is one of two elementary schools in the Clarenceville School District. It is a short walk from the subdivision. Grandview serves Preschool through 5th grade students from the communities of Livonia, Farmington Hills, and Redford. The enrollment at Grandview is approximately 450 students. The mission of Grandview Elementary is to honor the past, nurture the present and prepare for the future.

Ladywood High School is across St Edith Catholic School. It's a Catholic college-preparatory school for young women, committed to providing an outstanding educational environment within the Felician-Franciscan tradition and the mission of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, foundress of the Felician Sisters.

Eastern Michigan University is a comprehensive, co-educational public university that was founded in 1849 as Michigan State Normal School. Located 7 miles southwest, it offers degrees and programs at the bachelor's, master's, specialist's and doctoral levels. There are more than 200 majors and minors at the undergraduate level, and more than 170 graduate programs. EMU has six Academic Divisions and eight University Sites which include satellite campuses. Just like many other large universities EMU does offer online courses and degrees. Currently, EMU comprises seven colleges and schools: College of Arts and Sciences, College of business, College of Education, College of Health and Human Services, College of Technology, an Honors College, and a Graduate School. The university's site is composed of an academic and athletic campus spread across 800 acres with over 120 buildings. EMU has a total enrollment of more than 23,000 students.
