Alden Village Subdivision Location

Homes for sale in Alden Village, Livonia, MI are located off Stark Rd and north of Plymouth Rd.

Short walk from the subdivision are several restaurants and shopping including Wendy's, SUBWAY Restaurants, Thomas Family Dining, Zerbo's Health Foods and a lot more.

2.5 miles east of the subdivision is Wonderland Village. It is an outdoor shopping center originally named Wonderland Center. Wonderland Center opened in 1959 as an open-air shopping center on the site of a former airport. The center is located at the southwest corner of Middlebelt Road and Plymouth Road, approximately one mile south of I-96. Walmart and Target are the complex's anchor stores.

Westland Shopping Center is 2.5 miles south of the subdivision. The mall originally boasted a four-story Hudson's department store, with JCPenney later joining as a second anchor. In 1987, MainStreet joined the mall, becoming Kohl's one year later. Sears was first proposed as a new anchor in 1991 and opened in 1997, becoming the first Sears to open in Metro Detroit in over 20 years. In 2001, Hudson's was converted to Marshall Field's, which in turn became Macy's in 2006. On January 4, 2017, Macy's announced that it would close the Westland location in 8-12 weeks. In 2014, Westland received a major renovation. Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret were remodeled, whilst ULTA Beauty, Charming Charlie and Shoe Carnival opened. Now, the mall features more than 100 inline stores, with JCPenney, Sears, and Kohl's serving as anchor stores. MJI Westland Grand Cinema 16 is half a mile south of Westland Shopping Center.

Just across Westland Shopping Center is Westridge Shopping Center. It is an Open shopping mall with 2,098 parking spaces. It covers an area of 377,131 sqft. and has about 20 stores. Some of the stores here are Target, CVS, Burlington Coat Factory, Bed Bath & Beyond and Sally Beauty Supply.

St Mary Mercy Hospital is 3 miles north. It is a 304-bed acute medical and surgical hospital. US News rated the hospital high performing in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Heart Failure procedure.

Bicentennial Park is 5.5 miles north. The park offers great things for everyone. There are a total of 8 well-maintained tennis courts in 2 separate places within the park. Around the courts are several pavilions for resting or picnic. There are also soccer fields at Bicentennial Park. There's a paved walking trail of half a mile in this park. Beside Bicentennial Park is Fox Creek Golf Course. It's the newest golf course in Livonia having opened in 1988. The course is in a great shape and challenging enough. Scenery is nice for the area thanks to the creeks running throughout. Rates range from 17 to 28 for 9 holes and $23 to $45 for 18 holes.

Livonia also boasts a state-of-the-art Community Recreation Center located 3 miles north. It features a giant pool slide, leisure pool with water sprays, competitive pool, two gymnasiums, two multi-activity courts, fitness hub with training equipment, indoor track, climbing wall, aerobics room, party rooms, giant play structure and gymnastics area. Outside, the “Rec Center” offers four soccer fields, in-line skate rink, skateboard park, walking path, two sand volleyball courts and a water spray ground.

Alden Village Subdivision Freeway Access

Alden Village is 1.5 miles south of I-96 and 3 miles east of I-275.

Livonia enjoys a strategic location second-to-none in the region, with easy east-west access via the Jeffries Expressway (I-96) and north-south along the I-275 expressway.

Major local employers include Ford Automatic Transmission Operation (1 mile), United Parcel Services (UPS) Customer Center (3 miles northwest), Roush Enterprises (2.5 miles) NYX Inc., Phillips Service Industries, Inc., McLaren Performance Technologies, and St. Mary Mercy Hospital.

Livonia's industrial and manufacturing heart is largely concentrated in a 6-square-mile corridor combining major railroad and highway access to all sections of the metropolitan region.

Alden Village School District

Students in this subdivision are assigned to Livonia Public Schools school district. The school district is comprised of 27 educational buildings, each of which offers outstanding academic opportunities to our students. The Livonia Public Schools District is a closed school district and does not accept students outside of its designated geographical boundaries. Students are assigned to Franklin based upon their residency within the District boundaries. Those school boundaries are determined by the Board of Education. Transfers from within the school district must be approved through central office authorities.

Garfield Elementary School is 1 miles from the subdivision. Their goal is to provide outstanding communication with our parents and community.
