The City of Ypsilanti’s annual Memorial Day Parade steps off at 9:00 a.m. from the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Huron Street, led by the American Legion. A number of downtown streets will be closed starting at 8:00 a.m. to accommodate the route, which honors those who gave their lives in service to the nation. The community is encouraged to attend and line the streets in tribute to local heroes.

Hartland begins its Memorial Day observance Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. with a solemn commemoration at Hartland Cemetery. On Monday, festivities include a community pancake breakfast from 7:30–10:30 a.m. at Village Elementary, followed by a Memorial Day 5K Run/3K Walk starting at 8:00 a.m. The annual Memorial Day Parade begins at noon, traveling from Hartland Middle School to Village Elementary, preceded by a moment of silence to honor the fallen.
