Easter 2025 is hopping into Metro Detroit a bit late this year (Easter Sunday falls on April 20, 2025), which means an egg-stra long season of springtime fun for families. From classic egg hunts and brunches to marshmallow drops and even grown-up egg hunts with cocktails, the region is packed with ways to celebrate. We’ve rounded up the best events in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Livingston counties — all neatly organized by county and event type, so you can skip the search and get straight to the fun. Wayne County offers everything from free community egg hunts in the city to elegant brunches by the lake. Whether you’re in Detroit, Downriver, or the western suburbs, you’ll find plenty of Easter cheer.

You don’t have to spend a dime to enjoy Easter fun in Wayne County. Check out these free egg hunts and marshmallow drops open to the community:
A FREE carnival-style festival featuring egg hunts, “Bunny Land” games, inflatables, a kiddie disco, and more family fun. No registration required – just show up ready for a great time!
Bring your baskets for this free egg hunt, meet the Easter Bunny for photos, and enjoy a spring morning in downtown Romulus. All ages welcome; no fee or sign-up needed.
Okay, this one’s just over the border in Oakland County, but it’s a Metro Detroit must-see! Watch 15,000 marshmallows drop from a helicopter for kids to collect. FREE for ages 0–12 (divided by age group); turn in one marshmallow for a prize. An inclusive drop for individuals with disabilities happens at 11:00 AM.
Thousands of marshmallows will rain down from the sky in this Downriver tradition. Kids are split into age groups (4 and under, 5–7, 8+) and everyone who catches a marshmallow wins a prize. Come early – it starts right at 9 AM! FREE.
An after-dark glowing egg hunt for the whole family. Bring a basket and a flashlight to hunt glowing eggs around the park. This high-energy event is free (registration required to ensure enough supplies). The Easter Bunny will be on site for photos, plus music and refreshments.
A free “Flop-E-Bunny” egg hunt in Belleville with a twist – collect eggs and trade them in for treats. Open to local kids; just bring your own basket.
A free egg hunt hosted by First United Methodist Church of Birmingham (held in Berkley). Separate hunting areas by age group and an appearance by the Easter Bunny. Donuts and refreshments at 9:30, hunt starts 10 AM sharp. Free, no registration needed (donations welcome).
