Top Metro Detroit Festivals & Fairs for June 2022

Summertime is right around the corner, temperatures are heating up and so are the events! We have a ton of fairs, festivals and more taking place around Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor in June 2022. Here are our top picks for you and your family to get out and enjoy!

On June 1 in Howell Rock the Block will be taking place featuring local band Killer Flamingos! This is guaranteed to be a great show! Admission is free, with food from local restaurants & vendors available for purchase, along with beer brewed by Aberrant Ales.

From June 3 to 5 be at Belle Isle for the Detroit Grand Prix! Car and race fans alike will not want to miss a moment of these IndyCar and high-speed truck races. Attendees will also enjoy live music, games, food, interactive displays and more!

Also taking place June 3 to 5 is Islandfest in Grosse Ile! The whole family will be able to enjoy the carnival, petting zoo, parade, fireworks, music, car & motorcycle show, helicopter rides and much more! This is sure to be a great time!

Visit Rochester Hills on June 4 for the Leader Dogs for the Blind Bark & Brew! Enjoy live music, inflatables, carnival games, leader-dog demonstrations, or take part in the 5K and/or 1 Mile run to help raise money for this awesome foundation.

Also on June 4 in Ann Arbor is the African American Downtown Festival from 9AM to 8PM. There is a full schedule of events including live music, dance troupes, a kids corner with giant games, cotton candy, face painting, and much more!

You can also visit Maybury Park in Northville on June 4 for Farm Fest! This family friendly event features everything from cow milking and beeswax candle making, to lawn games, face painting and more. Educational presentations and demonstrations will also be taking place, along with food trucks providing plenty of delicious choices.

Moving on to June 6 to 9, head out to Melvindale for the Melvindale Days Festival. Fun for the whole family, there will be a wide variety of carnival rides & games, live entertainment, tasty foods, the Little Miss Melvindale pageant and fireworks to round out the weekend.

For something a little different, head to Hartland on June 18 for their Polo Classic put on by the Detroit Polo Club. Enjoy an exciting night of live polo, a strolling catered dinner, beer, wine, bourbon, a best hat contest, entertainment and more. Tickets are required and VIP tents & tables are also available.

Taking place June 21 to 26 the Livonia Spree returns after a two-year hiatus due to Covid! This week-long fair celebrates the founding of the city with a fantastic carnival, delicious foods, a variety of live music, a carshow, and more, all ending with a fireworks display on Sunday night. Back over to Howell, from June 24 to 26 stop out for the Michigan Challenge BalloonFest! The sky will be filled with hot-air balloons (including a Saturday night balloon glow), but there is much more to do and see. Be sure to stop by the carnival, check out the arts festival and open air marketplace, enjoy live music, fireworks and meet the pilots while you are there!

If you can’t make it out to Howell, also happening on June 24 to 26 is the Trenton Summer Festival! This festival has a little something for everyone with a street fair, kid’s corner, beer tent, live entertainment and of course more food vendors. Bring the whole family!

In addition to festivals, there are also a number of Art Fairs taking place this June!

June 3 to 4 in Imlay City is the Michigan Lavender Festival! This fragrant festival began in 2002 and includes educational classes, workshops, demonstrations, food trucks and over 100 Michigan artists and makers offering handmade goods of all sorts!

June 4 to 5 in historic downtown Farmington is Art on the Grand. Admission is free and over 75 artists will have a wide variety of high quality art and goods for sale, ranging from ceramics, sculptures, jewelry, photography, wood, glass, leather and more!

Also happening June 3 to 4 in downtown Pinckney is the 30th Annual Art in the Park! This popular art fair features paintings, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, photography,  woodworking and much more. There will also be live entertainment, food vendors and childrens activities, so bring the family for the day!

Head to Washington on June 5 for their 44th Annual Super Sunday Craft Show at the Washington Historical Museum! This fundraiser for the Washington Historical Society features crafters, antiques, art, a silent auction, live entertainment and more. Take a tour through the museum while you’re there to see their fantastic displays for a trip back through time!

On June 11, Berkley is holding their own downtown Art Bash with over 150 vendors offering handmade wares for purchase! Additionally, there will be live music, food, kids activities, and all of the local Berkley shops & restaurants will be open for business. Bounce down to Royal Oak June 11 & 12 for The Art of Fire - an art fair specializing in crafts forged in fire! Over 100 artists who work with metal, glass and clay will be on hand presenting their goods, as well as giving live demonstrations of metal working and glass blowing! On-site concessions and food & drink specials from local restaurants. Plan some extra time to check out the numerous downtown shops while you’re there!

Taking place on June 11 to 12 in Chelsea is the 47th Annual Chelsea Painters Art Fair! This group of 20 award winning artists work in a variety of media and will be gathering at the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds for this 2 day event to sell their original fine art and cards.
