#1 Daddy Daughter Dance

Annually in February

First up is a great opportunity for fathers to spend a special night bonding with their daughters at the Daddy Daughter Dance. This event includes a live DJ providing music, dancing, treats, and refreshments. Each group attending also receives a photo taken on site, goodie bag, as well as a carnation.

#2 EGGstravaganza
Annually in April

The Ferndale EGGstravaganza is completely free to the public and takes place each year before Easter, with events taking place at five of the local parks. There are separate events depending on age, giving the younger children a better chance at getting some goodies, with a variety of eggs and prizes available to each age group. And of course, like any good EGGstravaganza, the Easter Bunny just may make an appearance!

#3 Gravity Art Fair & Skate Contest
Geary Park - Annually in June

What better way to kick off summertime than an art fair coupled by a skate contest? Ferndale does just that every June with their Gravity Art Fair & Skate Contest that features a contemporary art fair full of awesome and unique artwork, sculptures, jewelry and more, along with separate skateboards, scooters, inline skates & BMX competitions on the ramps at the Geary Park Skate Park!

#4 Woodward Dream Cruise
Woodward Ave - Annually in August (Aug 20, 2022)

Undoubtedly, the most famous of Ferndale’s festivals is the Woodward Dream Cruise! Ferndale just so happens to be home of the Dream Cruise, which was founded by Nelson House in 1994 as a fundraiser to raise money for a children’s soccer field. Fast forward to today, the Dream Cruise has grown to over 15 miles long, becoming the world’s largest one day automotive show in the world, drawing over 1.5 million people and 40,000 classic cars annually.

#5 DIY Street Fair
Annually in September (Sept 23-25, 2022)

The annual DIY Street Fairtakes place every September where bands, artists, crafters, food trucks, wineries, distilleries, restaurants, non-profits, and all sorts of Do-It-Yourselfers gather for a three-day event to sell and promote their goods. This is a great event to stroll around downtown Ferndale, get some delicious foods and beverages and take in the amazing assortment of creative goods from the many vendors.

#6 Ferndale Fall Festival
Annually in October (2022 Dates TBA)

Each October the Detroit Curling Club hosts the Ferndale Fall Festival, a fall-themed wonderland of games, activities, music, and treats. The purchase of a wristband is required by all attendees, however that grants them access to a number of activities, including hayrides, pony rides, carnival games and prizes, crafts, face painting, pumpkin painting, and more.

#7 Pig & Whiskey
Annually in October (Oct 14-16, 2022)

One of our favorite annual events in Metro Detroit, the Pig & Whiskey is a 3 day festival in October full of mouthwatering BBQ goodness and a large selection of different whiskeys & bourbons on hand for purchase. There is also live music throughout the weekend, additional vendors, and lots of great people out to have a good time.

#8 Breakfast with Santa
Annually in December (2022 Dates TBA)

During the first week of each December children are invited to come have breakfast with Santa, as they learn about different Christmas traditions from around the globe, create crafts & ornaments and get their photo taken with Jolly Old Saint Nick. As each craft is completed children will receive a sticker to place on their map. Once all stickers are collected they can then turn it in for a goodie bag!
