Ann Arbor Driver Gets $2,084 Tip For Delivering 1 Pizza

A pizza driver working for the Pizza House, an Ann Arbor favorite, had no idea what was coming his way from the order of a single pizza by a room of 250 hungry Keller Williams Agents.  These agents weren't hungry for pizza or breadsticks, they were hungry to make a difference in a life.

Leading the charge, Matt Sutter made the call, and it went a little like this:  I would like 1 pizza delivered at exactly 2:20 pm at the Sheridan Hotel in Ann Arbor.  Robert Dunn the driver thought it was a little odd, but then people want their pizza when they want there pizza.

At 2:20 the pizza was delivered, with approximately 250 Keller Williams agents in attendance including leadership from The Perna Team,  Robert (pizza in tow) was taken to the front to settle up the bill.  Matt Sutter, a speaker in from Austin Texas and long time Keller Williams associate stated afterword "I could barely give Rob the gifts!  He started shaking as I went on, and that caused me to start shaking!"

In appreciation to Robert, agents pooled exatly:

6 winning lotto tickets

a $25 dollar Visa Gift Card

A loaf of home made Friendship bread

Over 150 handwritten notes of encouragement for him and his family

and a tip of $2084 in cash

Later after ABC's Good Morning America picked up the story Dunn told reporters: “I am just so thankful. It really, really touched me and really has brightened my spirit in general,” he said. “Those letters mean the most; they really do. Some of them are bringing me to tears. My favorite one said something along the lines of, ‘We appreciate all the hard work you do, and we know it’s really cold outside and we appreciate you bringing us the food today. Hopefully this money helps with all the bad tips you’ve gotten.  It really seemed surreal; I couldn’t believe it was happening. Nothing like this has ever happened to me – I’ve never even won a simple contest before,” he said. “I’m super, super grateful. That money is going to help so much.”

It didn't end there.   The owner of America's Preferred Home Warranty stepped in and donated $10,000 do KW Cares and KW Kids Cares.  This is the charitable arm Keller Williams Agents use to do ongoing good in their communities, including over the past year paying heat bills for those who can't assisting with expensive cancer treatments, making sure families have groceries to feed children, funding Red Day a Keller Williams initiative for all 107,000 Keller Williams agents to take a day each year and not sell homes, but help those in need.  That's 900,000 hours of giving back in one day.  As Michael Perna was quoted "If not for KW Cares and helping those in need then we wouldn't be Keller Williams, just another real estate brokerage"

“People go through the world all the time wondering if anyone notices them,” Keller Williams associate Matt Sutter said. “We notice you and we appreciate you,” he told Dunn as he handed him the gifts and a box of handwritten notes.
