**Updated April 02, 2026
Easter Sunday is April 5, 2026, and Metro Detroit Easter events this year span everything from free helicopter marshmallow drops and police-precinct egg hunts to full-day farm festivals and Easter Sunday brunch at more than 30 confirmed restaurants. Whether your family is in Oakland County, Wayne County, Macomb County, or the surrounding communities, there is something happening within a short drive this weekend.
This guide covers every confirmed 2026 event, organized by type so families can plan the full weekend in one place.
What Are the Helicopter Marshmallow Drops in Metro Detroit for Easter 2026?
Three communities are hosting free helicopter marshmallow drops on Friday, April 3: Royal Oak, Trenton, and Westland. All three events are free and no pre-registration is required.
A helicopter passes over an open field and drops thousands of marshmallows for children to collect and trade in for prizes. Age groups are separated so younger children are not competing with older kids. These events draw very large crowds and the best advice is to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
