Farmington Public Schools is a public school district headquartered in Farmington, MI. As of the 2014-2015 school year, the district serves 10,436 students. It provides services for students in Farmington, Farmington Hills, and a portion of West Bloomfield. The district has a total staff of 1,380, making it the second largest employer in the Farmington-Farmington Hills area.

The Farmington Public Schools serves students ranging in age from newborn to senior citizen. About 100,000 residents live in this suburban area. The community supports cultural activities, religious institutions, service clubs, civic organizations and a community college. 

Farmington Public Schools are all accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. Neighborhood Info

This home is located in the Pinebrook Estates, a small subdivision in Farmington Hills. There are hardly any trees within the subdivision. The homes were built in the late 1990's or early 2000's. The Pinebrook Estates subdivision is just north of 10 Mile Road and is east of Orchard Lake Road. 

A few restaurants are located 2.6 miles via Orchard Lake Road, such as, Camelia's Mexican Grill, Sushi Ko, The Tandoors Bar and Grill, Einstein Bros Bagels, Kabuki Sushi, Scrambler Marie's, and Jimmy John's.

Parks provide a meeting place where community members can develop social ties, and where healthy behavior is modeled and admired.

Heritage Park, located 2.1 miles via W 10 Mile Road and Farmington Road, is a 211-acre park with 4.5 miles of trails for hiking and nature study.  In the winter these trails are used for cross-country skiing.  A large picnic area is located at the north end of the park.  It includes a splash pad, group picnic shelter, youth playground, in-ground grills, two sand volleyball courts, an in-line hockey rink and six horseshoe pits.  The picnic shelter is available on a "first-come" basis, but may be reserved in advance for a nominal fee.  Also located in Heritage Park are the Spicer House, Stables Art Studio, Day Camp, Nature Center and Amphitheatre buildings. 

Woodland Hills is one of the last vestiges of Beech Maple forest left in the area, located 3.3 miles via W 10 Mile Road and Farmington Road. It is a passive park lending itself to quiet activities only, such as nature walks, bird watching, and nature photography. The 1.7 miles of trails on 74 acres meander across and are adjacent to a creek tributary to the Rouge River. They take you on a journey through areas of tangled brush, open field, young forest, mature forest, and wetlands. The park is home to a diverse variety of animal and plant life. Respect and care of this natural oasis will preserve it into the future for generations to come

Shopping malls are part of the fabric of the local community. Many shoppers’ first job or first date was at their local mall. Most shoppers can recall positive personal experiences from their youth that occurred at the mall. Additionally, malls actively support a number of local charities helping raise funds to support the broader community.

Farmington Plaza Shopping Center is located just west of Orchard Lake. This 75,000 sq ft well established shopping center is anchored by Overstock Outlet (opening soon) and International Mediterranean Market and Bakery (opening soon). Other fine retailers include Liberty Tax, Grand Tailor, Metro PCS, Nia Salon and The Framery. Large pylon signage available. Excellent visibility. Easy access with plenty of parking. Orchard Twelve Plaza is a 67,282 square foot retail shopping center located at one of the premium intersections. The center is located just off 696, which boasts traffic counts in excess of 79,000 cars per day at this intersection. Tenants include: Starbucks, Einsteins Bagels, Verizon Wireless, Jimmy Johns, Scramblers Marie’s, Fast Signs, Embroidme, and more.

Downtown helps reduce urban sprawl by concentrating activity in one area. Located 2.2 miles via W 10 Mile Road is the Farmington Historical Museum. Founded in 1954, the Farmington Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the town’s history and educating the public about its significance. We sponsor exhibits, lectures and other events, and we provide tours of the Freedom Trail’s Underground Railroad and Amistad sites. The town is what it is today because of educators like Sarah Porter, who started Miss Porter’s School for girls in 1843; architects such as Theodate Pope, a student of Porter’s who built the home that’s now the Hill-Stead Museum; and collectors like Alfred Pope—one of the first Americans to collect the Impressionist paintings of Monet, Manet, Degas and Whistler—and Wilmarth Sheldon Lewis, who founded the Lewis Walpole Library. Like the river flowing through the town, Farmington’s history is always near at hand, seldom far from view, linking past and present.
