Brighton Mall is a shopping mall that opened in 1970 as an enclosed shopping mall, the center was re-developed in 1996 as a power centre, retaining the name Brighton Mall. Anchor stores for the property are Marshalls, PetSmart, Jo-Ann Etc., Best Buy, and Gardner White.

The Historic Howell Theater is a two screen independent movie theater, 3 miles via Pinckney Road. It is located in walkable downtown Howell. It presents the latest in indie cinema, favorite classic movies, live music, display local artists and host a variety private events. The Howell Area Historical Society owns and operates the historic Ann Arbor Train Depot in downtown Howell as a Museum. located 3.1 miles via Pinckney Road, the Society has preserved and restored the building and is a repository for historical artifacts. The Museum Depot is listed on both the State Register of Historical sites and the National Register of Historic places. The first structure in Howell to be so recognized. An 1888 Grand Trunk Caboose, which sits along side the museum, is currently being refurbished. The Depot Museum has regular hours during the summer months and tours are available by appointment.

Howell Carnegie District Library is located in the heart of downtown Howell, 3 miles via Pinckney Road. The library unites the old and new in its structure, as well as its contents. The original Carnegie building was completed in 1906 with money from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and some local funds. The renovation and addition project were completed in 1991 and made possible through a bond issue. The new facility quadrupled the space available to meet the needs of our growing community. Currently, Howell Carnegie District Library is one of the featured sites on the State Historic Preservation Office's "Michigan's Historic Sites Online". The building is also home to the Howell Area Archives. The Archives collects, organizes, and maintains printed items, articles, memorabilia, photographs, and written materials of historical significance to Livingston County, Michigan.
