This property is governed by the Holly School District. Holly Area Schools provides a safe, supportive and rigorous learning environment preparing every student to meet challenges of today and tomorrow. Holly Area Schools serves to approximately 3,400 students in Northwest Oakland County. The district has four elementary schools, one middle school, an alternative education campus, and one Class A High School.

Approximately 190 staff members are certified with the vast majority having a Master's Degree or above. Approximately 50% of the student population receives free and reduced lunch. Holly Elementary and Holly Middle School participates in the "Leader in Me" Program. Both buildings are successfully increasing student leadership and positively impacting student academic and social behaviors through the 7 Habits. The district reopened Sherman Middle School in the Fall of 2014. With this change, the middle school grade configuration will return to grades 6 - 8. This has allowed continued growth of the district's early childhood programs at the four elementary buildings.

Inner city grocery stores are another tool for urban revitalization, located 6.9 miles via Big Lake Road is Neiman's Family Market. Their produce offer both organic and Michigan grown products that are available at a comparable price to other grocery stores in town. 

Another busy grocery store is located 6.2 miles via Pontiac Lake Road, Kroger has several sections that grocery shoppers adore, such as Adult Beverage where cocktails, craft beer and great wines are sold, Deli and Bakery where one can find all party platters needs, cakes and Murray's Cheese. Kroger also has Fresh Produce section, Meat and Seafood section, and Natural Foods section. Shoppers prefer Kroger for a lot of reasons but primarily because of the store formats that include supermarkets, superstores, department stores, convenience stores, and mall jewelry stores.

Restaurants can be extremely valuable additions to a downtown area.  They serve downtown workers and residents as well as attract visitors to the center of the community. Located 6.7 miles via McKeachie Road are where a number of restaurants and fastfood chains are located, such as, Subway, Little Caesars Pizza, McDonald's, Tubby's Grilled Submarines, Dave's Coney island, Billy's Tip 'n Inn, and Siam Fusion.

There are a lot of fun activities to do in Holly, one is located 11.3 miles via Tindall Road, Mount Holly Ski and Snowboard Resort. Nestled in Groveland Township near Holly, Michigan, there's no other ski area quite like Mt. Holly. Everything one needs is right here with 7 chairlifts including Southeastern Michigan's only High-Speed detachable quad, 4 rope tows, and two SunKid Wonder Carpets.

Mt Holly has a complete Alpine and Snowboard equipment rental, expertly groomed trails, and world-class ski and snowboard instructors. Indoors... the spacious Bavarian lodge provides two cafeterias, a fireplace room, a lounge with two additional fireplaces, and a full service ski shop. Outdoors...kick back on the 4200 square foot heated paver patio and centered fire pit. On the slopes...ski or snowboard the 19 trails ranging from beginner to advanced in difficulty, and 3 Snowboard Parks with an assortment of terrain features. Mt. Holly offers something for everyone. 

Holly residents enjoy going to the Detroit Model Railroad Club. Located 10.1 miles via Davisburg Road, the club was established in 1935 and is currently located in the old theater in historic downtown Holly, Michigan. The club’s O scale layout depicts the fictitious Detroit Union Railroad, a freelance double-track line running from Detroit to Dorrance, Michigan, with continuing single track and branchline service to Keatington, Millersburg, and beyond. Narrow-gage tracks interchange at Millersburg and serve customers up in the mountain region.
